The new motorcycle test went live on Monday 27 April 2009. It aims to improve the standard of road safety for motorcycle and moped riders. This user group has been identified as having a high risk of injury or death, this is particularly the case for young and inexperienced riders.

Reporting for your practical test
You must bring the following items with you to both module 1 and module 2 of your test. If you do not, the Driving Standards Agency may refuse to carry out the test and you may lose your fee.
What will the test include?
The new test will be completed in two modules. The specified manoeuvres conducted at specific speeds will be tested in module 1 on safe off-road sites.
These specified manoeuvres are:
On the day of your module 1 test, you will be asked by the examiner to demonstrate your riding ability on either the left-hand or right-hand circuit. The standard off-road layout may change because of local conditions on the casual sites.
