Meet the Team

Rob Wright
BikeWise Instructor

Although Rob has always wanted to ride motorbikes because he is a guitar player, four wheels was the only sensible option for carting his ‘Fender’ about. However, at the age of 40 the desire was too much and Rob passed his test first time at Lichfield test centre. “My first bike, a Yamaha Fazer 600, was actually owned by the training school I was trained at, which was somehow comforting knowing how much mileage it had done with many learners (soft lad!) Since then I’ve had another Fazer and Diversion from new, and am currently riding a Suzuki Vstrom 650 which is a great all rounder.” Rob has been an instructor for over 10 years,  taking a year out in 2013 due to regular gigs with a function band, but he soon got itchy for horsepower and bike training. Since then he has been with Bikewise and is proud to have provided quality training to many of our customers.

Rob admits to not being into group riding but loves the solitary feeling of riding alone in that jungle of roads. Rob says, “ Remember that armed with the correct tuition, you’ll always be upright and between the kerbs, get home safely and enjoy the buzz of knowing you did in Wright 😊 / right.”

Steve Alcock
BikeWise Instructor

Steve has been a pivotal member of BikeWise for several years, covering both Stafford and Shrewsbury bases. He is currently responsible for training almost all our students riding up to 125cc machines, giving them a great building block towards their full licence. Steve says, “I have been riding off and on since the age of 16 on a Yamaha RD50……you never forget your first……passed my test at 17. Passed my Institute of Advanced Motorists test aged 18. All riding has been for pleasure, commuting,  and of course work.”

Tony is a fairly new member to the BikeWise team, but has almost three decades as an instructor. He has also been a Police motorcyclist (retired) for over 25 years, being involved in VIP escorts around London. Tony says, “My motorcycling journey started when my girlfriend at the time kept using my car. And I was hooked. Since then, I’ve toured parts of Britain, Europe and even Morocco. I’ve worked for California SuperBike School, and am currently an examiner for the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), as well as DIAmond. I’m an Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) Instructor and have completed a programme in Motorcycle Rider Training Instruction.”
